Sponsor firms play an important role in the performance of DST investments and real estate funds, as they are responsible for the ongoing management of these investments and their underlying assets. Sponsors oversee property acquisition, due diligence, loan sourcing when financed, asset management, property management when not a triple net (NNN) leased property, and property disposition. Therefore, we make it a priority to help investors become familiar with a sponsor firm’s experience, capital resources, investment objectives and overall asset management plan, all prior to investing with that firm.
